re: Notice of delinquent debt from Louisiana OMV from 13 years ago

Received this exact letter last week on a truck I bought new then later traded it in a few months later back in 2013. I never had a lapse in insurance and the OMV was claiming I owed $250 within 60 days. Called the dealership that I bought and traded with and they sent the state a bill of sale and invoice. Was cleared within the day. It's pretty much a big money grab by the state. There are a couple articles on wafb website talking about this exact thing. Before I paid the money id def fight it if you have your records or can go to the dealership.
