Hobie brag time, sorry baws. This is the super clean 2015 Hobie Outback install that breaks down in seconds and is completely un-obstructive when it is removed. The 1" ram ball is located in side tray and when the unit is removed, the ball is flush with the sides and cables fold down into side pocket. This way, the ball is not damaged when doing transporting. This is in the way of heavy paddling but I can also fold it forward for paddling (shown in the album)

Parts used:
- Lowrance Elite 4 HDI
- Light Use (1" ball) RAM mount for Lowrance LINK
- Replace 4 bolt 1" ball above with 2 bolt 1" ball to fit in the tray (cant find link)
- Academy Stealth Cam battery + waterproof box + charger. Cut plug off and used Dean's plugs. Lowrance fuse fits in battery box. LINK

Standard seating position

Hardly a brag, my Hobie has an Elite-9 Chirp.

I am pretty sure that you can't hurt the ram mount. Those things are pretty much bulletproof.
