Yea, people throw out that stat like it means something but in the vast majority of those countries, it's just a small garrison or outpost or joint thing. Only about 14 countries (Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, UK, Turkey, Djibouti, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Japan, Korea, and Australia) have any sizable number of American servicemen there. We have good geopolitical reasons to be in all those places.
