honestly it's about 50/50. One mention of your parents or where you went to high school could get you an interview over someone who isn't common to the hiring person.

maybe in NOLA or very specific circles
but I doubt this happens with any frequency
maybe I just never put much value on where someone went to HS because I went to some rural public school in LA, but I think college is more important
and I find it kinda funny that people put so much emphasis on isolating their kids in private school, then all their kids end up at LSU with all the public school trash
