I want to say Snyder considering the resources but Spurrier did also but USCe on the map.

You could change out "Spurrier" with any coach in the history of college football and I would answer Snyder every single time.

I sincerely think Snyder has done the most impressive job maybr ever in college football
Their entire athletic dept, not just football, was on the brink of fiscal collapse before he arrived
Who has ever done more with less for so long
No scandles. Universally respected and comes out of retirement at his age like he never left

Career? Snyder all day.
At one university? Spurrier at Florda all day.

Spurrier had a great stretch for a string of years during the 90's. Snyder put K-State on the map, sustained success, resurrected it after he came back and is still putting together impressive seasons despite being picked near the bottom each year in the Big 12.
I'd argue his resume is stronger because he didn't have near the talent Spurrier had at UF.

Carolina was always reputable, but Kansas State was the dumpster fire of dumpster fires until he got there. 3-40-1 the 4 years before he got there.

LOL at reference to resurrecting by Snyder with no acknowledgement of Spurrier's resurrection of UF. He was THE most sought after coach at the time he left UF.

Definitely Snyder. Spurrier underachieved at UF.

Florida hadn't posted a losing season since 1979 and had been to three straight bowls. K-State won three games in four years prior to Snyder arriving. When he came back after the Ron Prince fiasco, they were fresh off two straight losing seasons.
Not sure what you're laughing at, but Spurrier didn't walk into Manhattan, Kansas with absolutely nothing to work with like Snyder did. It's pretty comical to me you're even trying to argue such a thing.

I don't think any of the Florida football powers can be in this conversation. Due to population growth, they were all bound to rise at some point.

Snyder and it ain't even close

Exactly. Regardless, the job Snyder did at K-State as a whole is far more impressive than what Spurrier did at Florida, given the circumstances and resources available to both of them. The more highly-touted players would more often than not prefer to play for a school that can offer great weather and lots of people. Snyder didn't necessarily get a bunch of chumps, but he utilized what he could piece together from the JUCOs in Kansas and filled in the gaps as needed.

If Snyder had UF talent and facities he may not lose.
GOAT.

i'm not far from agreeing with that ... he is surrounded by oklahoma, nebraska, mizzou, and colorado ... gets a few from texas, but that's his region for recruiting, and there ain't much there ... and he competes with the big boys ... and beats em sometimes ... manhattan is 56000 ... in the middle of kansas ... ain't even got an interstate going through there ...

The only reason that town is as big as it is is because of Snyder. They named the damn highway from I-70 to the city limits after him.
I will say this though, Manhattan doesn't get enough credit for being a cool college town. I had a lot of fun while I was there.

Besides the culture of losing he inherited, K State arguably had the most hopeless recruiting situation in the nation in the 1980s. Not that Kansas has ever been shite in football, but they are the prestige school in the state and K State was the little brother, and there aren't many big recruits in Kansas to begin with. They had Oklahoma at their peak to the South and Nebraska at their peak to the North, and a bunch of mountains to the West. They did what they had to do and he did it.

Snyder.
The man literally took the absolute worst program in the nation and turned them into powerhouse. The only thing he hasn't done is win a title.
Hell,
Spurrier only won one title......the year he sucked it up and went and got.....Bill Snyder's defensive coordinator.
Bill.

The only reason he even got one was because they got a mulligan against FSU since bowl game obligations did not allow #1 FSU to play #2 Arizona State.
If the BCS would have started one year sooner, Spurrier has zero titles for his entire career.

As said, Bill Snyder and it's not even close. Amazing what he has done over the last 25 years. He turned them around fairly quickly also in the 90's.
Have to respect the kind of guys he did it with also. Blue collar dudes that were a step too slow or a few inches too short, but simply knew how to play football. My best friend graduated last year as a walk on turned captain at K-State and is the definition of the kind of players that have built K-State. Snyder is also a stern disciplinarian and old school coach. His MO wouldn't work well with major recruits, but resonates with the chip on the shoulder guys he goes after.
