This is completely unnecessary. Completely different era, different understanding of football strategy, different understanding of dietary impact on performance and body, etc. Cannon was fantastic for 1950's. There was a Jim Brown at the time but he was considered a freak of nature.
I just enjoy all of our legends. No need to compare them.

Flip it around and let Cannon be brought up in today's age of weight training, diet, speed training, etc. The guy would be found very, very capable, to quote a great man.
