Been putting it off because of field conditions.
Plots are so dry that the discs are just scratching up a few inches.

I was about to post on this subject.
Usually, I have my bow plots planted in 3rd week of Sept. and this year I'm still holding out until conitions change. It's been brutally dry. Also, the ground is like cement. I broke a disk blade yesterday while trying to break ground.

we never plant before the 3rd wknd in October anymore. been doing this since 1998.
we used to plant mid september but kept having to replant due to no rainfall and the turkeys getting the seed or to rain right after we plant then drought and they died. Its better to wait until you have a good chance of rain, should start getting some better fronts with moisture in about 2 weeks

Thank goodness, I thought I was the only one who was being hardheaded and waiting to plant. I was starting to panic and was considering buying some no plow plot mix, but I think I'll hold off a little longer and do it right. My biggest problem is that I need the plots to hold the deer on my spot. There aren't many oak trees and feeding them corn at the rate they're eating it is killing my wallet.

We planted everything 2 weeks ago. We wanted to wait since it's so dry, but we had access to a tractor so we went ahead and planted.

Got 2 small plots planted and a small shower the day after, a week ago & it came up. It needs another rain for sure. Have all the plots ready for seed but waiting on a rain to plant

Have not planted either and forecast isn't showing any sign of rain either, driving me nuts. Washington Parish here. Seed bought and paid for, still waiting to pick it from the co-op

Planted last weekend but didn't really have a choice. Was the only weekend when equipment was going to be available.
If no rain by next weekend I'll be hooking up the knuickle sprayer to the truck

I saw that we got less rain this summer than Phoenix.
We normally plant the first weekend in October. Haven't even cranked the tractor yet.

Just stopped raining here in SW Georgia. Rained for at least 10days. Was starting to think I lived in Seattle.

Did that here, all spring and early summer, rained every day.
But, then it went from flooding to drought conditions and burn ban.!!
