half of those passes were either short, late, or just bad passes. 3 or 4 should have been completed.

Which would have put him at about 8/15. Not bad considering at of the low percentage deep stuff.
I think the staff is genuinely trying to bring him along at the right pace. They really couldn't do much for MSU and Auburn because of the magnitude of those games, but I saw an effort to throw more against Syracuse and EMU. Syracuse was too close for comfort forcing us to back off of the pass and EMU featured too much downfield passing with early subs on defense that kept it closer than it needed to be, IMO.
The receivers struggled against EMU. I think we all agree on that, but where was the dink and dunk passing that this young QB needs to gain confidence? Heck, we watched Brees light it up Sunday night and he couldn't throw it over 20 yards with much accuracy. The plan for him needs to involve more high percentage passing, so the linemen, receivers, and QB can get the reps they obviously need. To me, there was a bit of a wasted opportunity there with all of the long ball stuff.
