Well you can't use the globe as a control for this test case. Most of the people around the globe can't read let alone understand physics and the possibility of sending a man to another planet.

There's a gigantic craft feet away from it that is thrusting dust and other particles all over the place. Wind isn't the only thing that will make a flag wave.
