Listen to your wife and don't always try to give solutions/fix the problem. A lot of times they just want someone to listen and sympathize with them.

I fricking hate that shite. If you bring me a problem or issue, I'm going to propose some solutions or at least some mitigation. If you want to emote or share for the sake of emoting or sharing, talk to the dog...or join an internet message board.
