A & W Rootbeer Driveins.

Pull up and they put the tray on your window.

Papa Burger, Mama Burger and Baby Burger and Root Beer in a frosty mug. Simple. Straightforward.

Yup. Dog n' Suds was the same sort of drive-in off of highways. Truckers used to refer to them as Arf n' Barf.

When I was a kid, Howard Johnsons had restaurants and would feature all you could eat fried clam strips. I polished them off like Homer Simpson.

Smoked Chubs. It's not that they aren't sold anymore, it's that the Great Lakes no longer supply them. We used to drive up to Port Washington to Smith Brothers and grab a large box of those gems.

Kids cereals that still contain tons of sugar, but have removed sugar from their name in order to not sound as unhealthy. Not that I eat them, but I thought it was disappointing and cowardly of them to change away from Super Sugar Crisp, Sugar Pops, Sugar Smacks, etc.

There are still a few of these, very rare, but I have seen them. The one I know that is still open is in Madisonville, TN.
