Amazon is a good place to look. I just ordered a chef's knife and paring knife from Global through Amazon. Also got an offset knife from F Dick. Those are some of the knives Anthony Bourdain recommends for high quality without breaking the bank. With Prime I got them a couple of days later.

Hey me too! Did you get it in yet? (Mine arrives tomorrow) I ordered it because of the outstanding reviews and Bourdain's praise. I've heard that it is lightweight, which scares me because I am used to a heavy knife. But I think since I've never had a really nice knife, I can adapt to pretty much anything.

It was on sale for $75 too!

I thought about Amazon (I'm a Prime member), but I was hoping to finger frick some stuff and get a hands on feel for what I might want. And as long as the prices are decent I don't mind spending my money locally.
