I don't really understand the trade, I'll be honest. I think the Saints giving up on Akiem Hicks says a lot about Rob Ryan than it does Hicks. I'm going to sound like the scum of the board when I say this, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hicks makes himself a nice career in New England.

I tend to think its not just his play but his attitude and commitment to the team at this point.

quite possibly. sometimes talented but bad players do well on other teams. BillBell is the best coach in the league (and quite possibly the history of the game), and he can get the best out of players. Though he did fail at points with other players in the same boat, so it's not absolute.
