David Shaw was their coach when they won the Pac 12, but you're right about Harbaugh building it to that point. He turned Toby Gerhart into a Heisman finalist. Think about that for a minute.

He will win and win big or go insane trying. I don't believe he goes back to the NFL, he is home now and won't leave. I am glad he is not in the SEC!

Anybody who can make lowly Stanford relevant and then turn around the Niners into immediate SB contenders is remarkable.
If he was a coach in the SEC, he would make Vandy SEC champs.
He would make Northwestern champs in the Big10.
He's going to have the #1 team in the nation in 3 years...and Michigan will be #1 for years. They will dominate as good as USC and Alabama.
Michigan will be the gold standard in CFB.
