Initially. Not enough data points to see if he's the long-term answer anywhere. He was handed a stacked roster in SF that had drastically underachieved under one of the poorest head coaches of the last decade. His last year was pretty dang mediocre and it would have been tough sledding for him to sniff a winning record in SF over the next 2 years. At least not under his remarkably underperforming offense that was total crap to finish his tenure and hand-picked QB. Related, he appears to be prone to the same staff cronyism as Miles (see Greg Roman).

The cons are there, he's just not in one place long enough for them to fully materialize. Michigan fans will eventually hate him.
