Tom Herman and the (10-0) Houston Cougars

With all the talk about Charlie Strong being on the hot seat at Texas, lets talk about Tom Herman and the Houston Cougars. Tom Herman took over at Houston after being the OC at Ohio State. Coincedently he has Houston off to a 3-0 start while putting up huge numbers, and on the flip side of that, Ohio State has gotten off to a slow start offensively putting up mediocre numbers. Can Houston run the table and threaten the Final 4? They would have played some decent competition. Also, if they somehow go undefeated, will the big school in Austin be calling him?

Temple in the AAC Championship
They get Vanderbilt, Cincy, Memphis and Navy all at home. That has them set up to make a run at an undefeated season. Thoughts?

Yes probably after next year

Houston has played 3 shitty teams and you are talking them up as a playoff contender?
I think Tulsa has a shot at beating them Saturday.
If they get past that their schedule is a big enough joke to run the table, although Cincy, Memphis or Navy have a shot to beat them.
Toledo is going to be your G5 rep this year.

I mean they won't get into the playoffs but it can set them up for a NY6 bowl

Why not? LSU has played three shitty teams and they are being talked about as a playoff contender.

Mississippi State, Auburn and Syracuse are all better than anyone Houston has played.
Auburn beat Houston's "signature win" on a neutral field.

Jesus, im simply asking the question that if they run the table, can they threaten the Final 4? Their schedule could be back loaded with Memphis, Navy and Temple all possibly being ranked. That could boost their changes. Obviously they are on the outside looking in, but its not impossible!!

I think it would require 2-3 loss champs in the ACC and Pac-12.
Worst case scenario for Big 10 is a one loss champ.
I think its looking more and more likely that a one loss champ is worst case for the Big 12 as well
I think a 2 loss SEC champ would be in over an undefeated Houston.
So it comes down to a 13-0 Houston, 2 loss ACC champ or 2 loss Pac-12 champ. Depends on Louisville. Houston needs a team over a P5 team with a winning record. Without that I don't see them getting in.

Mississippi State is the most "impressive" of those three teams. Auburn is garbage, and Syracuse...

Houston beat Auburn's only win on the road.

For the most part you are right. But Louisville is a good bit better than Syracuse IMO.

False, Ohio State has played two shitty teams and two average-above average teams.

VT and NIU are both better than anyone A&M has played.

But maybe they dont. Memphis (4-0), Temple (4-0), Navy (4-0) are all just outside the top 25. Cincy is a quality team as well. Houston would get all 4 at the end of the year when they would be most likely ranked. They already won @Louisville (P5), plus they get Vanderbilt in there and that would be two wins against the P5. I'm telling you, a 13-0 Houston squad would get a hard look over a 2 loss P5 team.

Based on what?
Absolutely nothing.

Ok? You made a comment about LSUs schedule was easier than Ohio states. It's not. MSU would easily be the best team Ohio state has played

They skull drug us thanks to our shitty fricking head coach and caused our D Coord to step down. I can't believe we hired Wright over Herman years ago. frick our AD.

Eyeball test. Pretty clear Syracuse has much less talent.
