In this case it's not the gun law but perhaps the gun owner's discretion in question. He's not in danger and blasts? Fine w me the crook took one to the dome but this actor will face huge punishments if only exhorbinant defense bills. He will be affected 1000 times more than the "victim" and car owner in this case.

Although it's unfortunate that this "friendly fire" event occurred, it's does not absolve the fact that this wouldn't have occurred if not for the criminal act in the first place - the blame still lies solely on the perpetrators, not the Good Samaritan.
