Buga brings another advantage to the run game we didn't have before.

To the complainers of the lack of passing game, there's a reason we have been running effectively regardless of packed defensive boxes. Buga brings an element that lsu didn't normally have in the premier rb in the previous years: SPEED.
In Previous years, we were accustomed to seeing the team run these dive plays and power o plays that would usually get stuffed in the middle, but thanks to buga's speed, we see him easily accelerating through the edge and running around the defense. This makes it harder for the defense to focus on one point in the line and just fill it with bodies. Now, the defense is required to actually track him down and make the tackle, which knowing our beast, is almost impossible without at least two bodies. His speed is the thing that has spread out our running attack, making it hard to pack the box now from fear of losing the edge.

So Jeremy Hill wasnt fast? Blue wasnt fast? Keiland Williams?
I admit that none are in Bugas level, but how many in college football are? Your logic sucks.

It's the combination of power and speed. Hill had the same thing.

You're exactly right, beantown. Buga's speed around the edge is resulting in huge plays. It's probably forcing wider dline alignments and opening up the middle. We're getting some of the benefits of the jet sweep without actually running it. That play against Syracuse, when the LB was setting the edge and Buga took it outside, was amazing. The LB never even touched him.

Everyone is right, Jeremy Hill had similar speed and power. The main difference that Fournette has over every RB that LSU has had in the last several years is his vision. This can't be understated. There are times where the hole isn't where it's supposed and he's able to go somewhere else.
