Any commitments beside Mays and Sims? Anyone else we have offered or are recruiting?

Mays and Sims are 2016 recruits

2016 is really peculiar. I checked in on De'Aaron Fox's twitter, and he didn't say a word about his visit to LSU. Meanwhile he was gushing over Calipari's in home visit. It seems pretty telling, but he may be shooting for the shock factor. By the way he visited LSU last weekend.
Seems like the recruiting "insiders" all feel like Abdul Ado is LSU bound, which would be awesome. It'd be nice to get an athletic center that is prototypical for our style.
Jaylen Fisher seems to be really big on LSU too. I feel like we take him too.
I'm still puzzled as to why Jarreau and Grisham eliminated LSU. My positive spin is that at least they aren't State or Bama bound, who could actually build a deep pipeline if we aren't careful. Also it's very possible we're just slow playing the two in confidence for big fish we're not aware of.
It just sucks because I love LSU basketball, and recruiting information is ridiculously difficult to come by

Yeah, if there's one thing we know that's absolute about Coach Jones and the staff, it's that they're great recruiters. There's no doubt in my mind we'll get our share, but it's always too quiet to gauge who their recruiting board is

As good as our recruiting staff is I don't see how we are going to miss on 2 top La talents. There ha to be more to the story

You listed 2016 prospects but two top prospects in alabama for the class of 2017 where in the stadium for the auburn game pulling for lsu. Austin Wiley and Jamal Johnson LINK

Well from what I looked up Umass' coach is an excellent recruiter, and Miami still has Larranaga and is such a popular brand. Still I don't see Umass walking in and out-recruiting our staff. Maybe they just wanted to go out of state, but we'll never know.

Very nice tidbit. Thanks for sharing

Austin Wiley
Oh hell yes. Pulling a 5* right from under Pearl and Johnson would be something else

LSU isn't even in consideration any longer for Jarreuau and Grishom they're deciding between UMASS & Miami Monday. LSU cooled on those 2 once they got Mays and Simms 2 Similar players and are after others. Also on Jaylen Fisher the staff backed off on him as well he isn't coming to LSU on an official. Fisher is strictly a PG which Mays can play and as mentioned they're going strong after Foxx who can play PG as well as off guard, same for Mays. Coach Jones is big on versatility. It's possible LSU will only sign Mays and Simms early and have to wait until the spring for other players. Haven't heard about a time table for Ado but I know Fox will possibly wait to see who heads to the NBA early at the schools he's considering.

That scares the shite out of me with so many spots open and the SECW recruiting so well right now

Didn't we land Simms before we offered the other 2? If Fox is the only other pg we are going after in '16 we will be in some trouble.

He wasn't gushing about the in home itself. It had more to do with the fact that he let a disabled UK fan who goes to his school meet Calipari. Fox is extremely low key. No one knows anything on what Fox will do.

Ado is very likely at this point. He'll decide before the early signing period.

If we can land an OV I'll feel really good about landing Fisher.

Jarreau wants to play PG and we're recruiting Fox and Fisher for that position. We want Jarreau as a 2 guard, but he ain't havin it. So he'll go to a lesser program and jack up shots on NIT bound teams. Kind of like Malik Newman.

1 pg will not be enough if we lose grey and TQ
Posted on 9/25/15 at 10:41 am to Tigerfan_95
You're forgetting about Patterson who can play point
Posted on 9/25/15 at 10:46 am to thunderbird1100
So we would basically have 2 guys capable of running point. If a injury happens we will be screwed. You need atleast 3-4 point guards on your roster. You can always play 1 as a 2 guard.

The plan is to take 2 guys who can handle the ball in this class. So we'd have 3.

Injuries can screw up anything. Don't take Ben Voogd just because you need another PG.

That's what I'm saying, I hope we have a backup plan for fox so we don't end up with 1 pg this class
