a septic tank is simply an underground settling basin...solids settle out in the tank and the liquids run out into field lines stretched out across the yard....
a wastewater treatment system is basically a septic system with an air pump (modad) that pumps air into the tank to force further breakdown of the solids...
you have to pump both out when they get full...
installation of septic systems is no longer allowed, so anytime one needs work, you have to install a wastewater treatment system...

I know for a fact this system has a compressor because the property disclosure says it was changed recently. Does that mean this is an acceptable system in Louisiana?
