Thanks. I do , but preliminarily I was thinking a pot, some dirt, some seeds, and some grow lights. Is that not enough? Oh, and water.

Yes....but....
a) you need nutrients
b) growing in soil provides better flavor. But it takes longer
c) hydro is a bitch to set up and maintain but yields are ridiculous
d) you have to worry about cooling. Lights get hot. Invest in LEDs if you are planning on growing frequently. More expensive but cooler and use less power
e) pests are a bitch and a half.

I am growing "tomatoes" outside right now. Its really easy to do, and cheap as frick. I will probably spend around $50 for the entire set up, and yield about 3 ounces of "pre 98 bubba kush tomatoes"

I guess it is, but if you are getting the lights and set up for indoor, hydro is like growing plants on steroids.
