Greatwood Golf Club in Sugar Land, TX. Shot much better, posting an 86. Was absolutely excellent off the tee, but the greens were SLICK.

I have never had slick greens at greatwood. They are usually decent, but never slick. I hate the final two holes on that course. THey always screw with my head. LAst time I played there I shot 40 on the front then 52 on the back. So frustrating hahaha

Played Friday at Quail Valley (El Dorado) in Missouri City, TX. This course held the Shell Houston Open in 1973. Don't want to even disclose my score. Extremely tough course, and to make matters worse, it was in terrible condition.

I played there a few weeks ago, and I will never go back. The greens were possibly the worst I have ever played. Worst part is I was playing great, but couldn't make anything over 3 feet because of all the grass popping up on the greens. Finished 89 with no help from the putter.

I have been out of the game for a couple weeks thanks to an ankle injury. Hoping to make it back out on the course this weekend though.

Yep. Similar situation with my round yesterday. Shot 42 on the front, and the only reason I was able to shoot 44 on the back was because of some very fortunate rolls on some bad chips.

Yeah the greens were unusually fast. It was my first time playing there, so I've got nothing to compare it to, but all my downhill putts were slippery. Barely tap the ball and now I'm left with a 7 footer coming back uphill. It was maddening.

Yeah it's sad. That course has a great layout, but they have let it go to shite. The greens sucked, and it has its share of impossible shots for the average weekend hacker. On a par 5 on the back 9, my drive went long into a fairway bunker. It was sunken so when I made contact it got out, but was stopped by carnoustie-ish trash rough on the lip. I lost my damn ball in that pile of shite. I eventually found it, and then had to use a wedge to hit out of that colossal mess which went about 20 yards. So all of a sudden I'm hitting 4 from the fairway at about where my first shot would have landed if it hadn't gone long.

I almost picked up my ball and drove back to the parking lot
