What the hell man.

Piling on the kid? He swung a fricking helmet into a kid's head who was kneeling below him. Piling on? That's the most arse backwards shite I've ever heard.

The white kid might have used a racial slur. I don't know where he could have said it, seeing as he would have probably been within ear shot of black teammates of his, but he certainly could have used one. But, who the frick cares? At this point, using these common racial slurs isn't even personal. It's a lazy way to be mean and only shows how ignorant/dumb one is. The n word barely has any meaning anymore. Do you beat the frick out of people who call you a fig? Probably not, because that word has no meaning either.

Ok, I'll trust you. I hadn't heard that yet but I see no reason why it can't be true. Still not an excuse for his actions.

Nope. That excuse is going to become more common unfortunately, regardless if it's true or not

Didn't say it was justification.

But that kid should've thought twice about bis language as well. They both have lessons to learn.

95% of this board still would have though the kid was lying had he done the right thing and reported him to a ref or coach or had he just whipped his arse for rest of the snaps. So who are we kidding? Because it's wholly impossible for someone to throw a racial epithet at someone?

Let's stop acting like people are stupid. Isamophobia is true and practice angle by some of our presidential candidates. If they are capable of using similar type of rhetoric publicly and amongst the masses, why should I really believe that some 16 year old can't throw the n word at some kid?

Wait I'll fall into a cognitive dissonance that conveniently allows us to deny poor actions of some , but let's us think some folks are wholly capable of their bad actions, and in fact their problems are solely rooted for their inadequacies as people (especially when the drive home self-fulfilling prophecies for us )

Shut the frick up, u have no clue what went on out there and here you go, pretty much claiming the kid made racial claims.

The two kids that hit ref also said they hit him because they heard the ref used the N word.

I don't think you do attack the kid for slur. I totally disagree with the kids actions. but who am I to say some words have weak meanings? That depends on the person..so the general trend of thought is to refrain from calling ANYONE that.

I can't say racial epithets don't carry weight from my position in a distinguished class. It's easy for any of us to say it shouldn't have meanings, when treated akin to the treatment their groups have received has been endured by groups like ours. So it's not the same. And it shouldn't be treated the same.

If that were the case, people wouldn't have been persecuted, murdered, and terrorized in the name of those words.

Guess I'm saying what I said about the two Hispanic kids that hit the ref --- someone throwing a racial epithet shouldn't be something so shocking to us, or something that is so so improbable, especially if supposed wanna be leaders of nation spew open prejudice against a certain group of Americans.

If they aren't above it, is a 16 year old? Kids learn from their elders

For frick's sake. You're an enormous part of why racism is still a thing. I'm convinced that you, and people who think like you, never want racism to end. It's just too easy to use it as a tool. Why you care that some ignorant arse person doesn't like you, I'll never know.

Yup we need audio tape of the kid saying it.

Of course evidence would be the best thing.

Hard for me to say if I should think a from a persecuted group person pulling the race card should be less credible than supposed perpetrator.

People have been accused of pulling the race card or claiming "unfair treatment" for 100s of years. And their doubters usually are frowned upon historically for their cognitive dissonance.

Historical precedent says more than likely, he probably said it.

Or you know, discriminated against minority groups have been lying for the last 100s years. I could roll with that logic, but there's a very very high chance in 30-40 years,'I'll be proven wrong.

It never fails

Of course I want it to end.

But to think that the whole onus of this problem is on the persecuted group is just conveniently and intellectually lazy.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?

Are you serious? That has to be a joke?

Historical PRECEDENT?!?!? What in the frick does PRECEDENT have to do with this? Historical precedent of abuse/discrimination is why in some states if you call the police because your wife hit you in the head with a cast iron skillet and gives you a concussion, YOU get arrested for domestic violence. It has ZERO relevance with what is happening today.
