It's partly because you know, he plays for City's little brother.

Surely big brother could sell out vs Juve

I just think it's a douche move to celebrate against your old team. Torres didn't celebrate agianst Chelsea, RVP didn't against Arsenal and Ronaldo has said he wouldn't celebrate if he scored against United.

all those moves had some kind of drama so celebrating would cause a riot much like the video I posted just like if Sterling this season would celebrate vs Liverpool

It's a mutual respect thing and from what I know it's not like Depay and PSV had any kind of falling out. If that were the case then I could maybe understand it.

Exactly if no bad feelings no big deal they celebrate. Plenty of players have celebrated vs their old team like Lewa vs Dortmund but Gotze didn't bc all the drama when he left.

I agree in part but only because the "drama" you mention usually means that fans of the previous club already hate the player and have usually made it clear he's already "enemy #1".

The celebration against them in that case is like "frick you too, again".

What I disagree with is that if there's no drama they just celebrate. It absolutely matters to fans and it matters a LOT.
So, they can celebrate but they'll never be welcomed back and the fans of the previous club will mainly take it as a "frick you, I could care less".

It's mainly whether the player wants to be considered a villain to the fans or maintain a good relationship and be remembered fondly and always welcome back.

Not arguing any moral ground since bad guys make the game more fun but that's what you make yourself if you celebrate against fans that supported you.

Marquinhos or Lamela, for example, are guys that AS Roma fans still love and consider one of their own. They left with no drama and respect from fans so if they celebrated against Roma it would be absolutely unheard of. Kids would cry and burn their shirts aand crazy ultras would try to fight them if they ever showed their face in Rome.

Destro, on the other hand, wasn't widely liked and so fans would consider it just par for the course but still hate him a bit more.

Same for someone like Mexes, who left on a free with a lot of controversy. He's already an enemy and everyone would be waiting for it.
