I mean, if she's in LA, yes.. doesn't need AWD. If she's in an area that gets snow, then it's worth the issues with tires.
In an area with snow I can definitely see a single mother wanting AWD. We only get a few weeks of snow a year, and I still put my wife in an AWD vehicle because she's hopeless on snow otherwise.
That being said, I'd be looking at a Subaru for an AWD vehicle instead. Honda Pilot is also a good mom vehicle that has AWD available or an Acura MDX if she wants something a little more luxury.

The AWD isn't the draw.... It's the cost of the vehicle. It's been well kept from what I can see, I just want to make sure it's dependable after 100k.
