My wife is from Iowa and her Dad recently gave us some ring bologna. It's in a casing like sausage. Not sure what to do with it. Is it like a dry sausage? It came from a meat locker, btw. Tks for any info

Tks Gris , I saw that but was hoping for something for a meal. I'll admit, I'm scared. Most things I've had from up north, that I've never heard of, have been, "different"

You could probably grill it, as well, and it seems like a natural in beans. Taste it and you'll probably get a better feel for it and how you might want to use it.

Cut slices and fry as Gris Gris suggested. Put that and cubes of your favorite cheeses on a platter with some toothpicks and some yellow mustard and put them out for the game.

I'd slice the cheese so it will fit with a slice of the bologna on a cracker, myself. I hate cubed cheese, though. I think it's because I saw this huge cubed cheese and fruit display at a business cocktail function. It was multi-tiered and the cubed cheese was sweating. Nasty!

Score it and smoke it. Thank me later.

That looks like a whole full size bologna. I've don't that and it was good.
For the ring bologna cook it in sauerkraut and serve.
And bologna flavor? Myrtle berries.

Ahhhhh... ring bologna like a Kielbasa then! Definitely cut and fry with onions and peppers or with kraut!

Slice it, take the ring off and fry it for bologna and cheese sandwiches. Had that quite a lot when I was growing up.
