This is most certainly not the norm. Most software jobs are asking for 5 years of experience and team lead positions before approaching 100k.

yeah, and if you really want to make money in tech, software dev is not where its at.

Our junior product marketing and product managers clear $120k. Senior people make closer to 200k. hell a good program manager will make more than most developers.

This is a false statement. I'm a EE and already have a job set up with Amazon when I graduate for $115K year. I'll be 34 with 12 years of Active Army Experience.
