Cowboys OC, Tim Leger, said BeBe, who used to coach at McNeese, called him and said they won't see him on any film they study, but he wanted to warn them that Arden Key is THE BEST defensive lineman he has ever coached.
Coach O has coached some pretty damn good players! If this is true then WATCH OUT SEC!!!

That's as strong as 9 acres of garlic.

Hope I don't get killed for asking this but isn't he still a little light? Read a thread a while ago that he has put on a little weight though.

Key has a rare trait that not many defensive linemen can be taugh. Arden understands how to use leverage and his feet to put offensive linemen on their heels. He also knows how to use speed and turn it into power. He probably developed it from playing at such a low weight with not a lot of packed muscle. It's a trait that guys like Leonard Williams had at USC. I think Key is a lot further along than we originally thought. He might take Bower's spot mid-season once he's been in the weight room some more. Our Leo position is in good hands.
Eta: I forgot to mention this originally but Key also has outstanding bend in his hips. He can turn on a dime and chase down anyone.
Eta2: Key also possesses a critical tool in a pass rushers arsenal: violent hands. His hands are very active in his pass rushing. If Orgeron can make his hands even more precise and coordinated he will only be that much better.

Coming from Coach O, that says a lot. Can't wait to see the Key to our D-line in action!

He's at 230-240. I think it's very possible he breaks the SEC freshman sack record. I think he's better than Garrett as well.

Where did that quote come from?

I believe this shite when I see it. More coach speak. Just like Heron was the breakout player last year in fall practice.

quote:garrett might be the most overrated player in the country. yeah he had 11.5 sacks last year, but 8 of those were against ULM, Rice, and Lamar.

UL Monroe - 3.5
Rice - 2.5
Lamar - 2
South Carolina - 1
Mississippi State - 1
Ole Miss - 1
West Virginia - .5
Arkansas - 0
bama - 0
LSU - 0
Auburn - 0
SMU - 0
he did lead the SEC in sacks per game, but filter out non-P5 schools and he falls the 16th. there were even 2 other freshman in front of him.
nationally, he was tied for 90th vs P5. there were 5 other freshman in front of him.
he wasn't even top 50 in the SEC in tackles per game
and now hes playing under chavis, so he might not even reach those numbers again

Not buying this. Why would O call and warn a coach he is about to face

I think that I'll be cautiously optimistic on this one...of course it would be nice if true...and I will stand and cheer! GO Tigers!
