The engineering was terrible. The downramp from the bridge narrowing to one lane, terrible. Having the main artery (I-10) with fewer lane than the spur(I110) was terrible. The bridge entrance ramp from the East side heading west was designed wrong causing trucks major problems. No East bound entrance ramp on Dalrymple was poor planning. No shoulders on the old portions of the interstate was poor engineering. building the interstate bisecting the Lakes, and downtown BR was poor planning.

You realize I was talking about the expansion/loop drawings?

A proposal to build a new bridge across the Mississippi River near Baton Rouge that could reduce interstate traffic congestion in the city has received support so far from the Louisiana Legislature.

Because of financing issues, however, the earliest a feasibility study of the "West Bank Connector" project would likely commence is August 2015, Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development Secretary Sherri LeBas tells The Advocate.

Possible locations for the bridge are between Brusly and Addis, south of Addis and between Plaquemine and St. Gabriel.

The $800 million price tag of the bridge would add to the $12 million backlog road and bridge projects in need of funding.

Looks like this is a ballpark figure but does not address the access roads...

I'm sorry. I misunderstood.

Yes, the loop "campaign" lacked good information. You are right about that.
