After reading up, I think it has blown capacitors. I took it to place for a look. If they can fix it for less than a hundred I'll keep it a bit longer. If not I'll be out a 30.00 diagnostic fee. Then I'll look at a new tv.

Honestly I'd buy one with no bells and whistles if it would last. Picture quality had never been a big deal to me. My eyes aren't that great anyway. If it weren't my wife wanting the flat screen I'd still be using the 20 yo crt that's in one of the kid's rooms.
