Most people saying they could cracks me up. the amount of money you would get in a quick smash and grab would in no way equal the risk of years in prison. If you went in as a crew, the money would need to be divided and you would need absolute trust in the other people. Others could rat you out no problem. Also in order to get enough money to be worthwhile, you would need to get into vault, which takes more time and effort. Then you would have to be willing to take a hostage and run the risk of shooting/being shot, not to mention having to get away. Would you be willing to take someone as hostage?, probably not. Then you have to launder the money and hope your crew doesn't do anything stupid, or just take them out, increasing jail time. Better off taking out something a little easier than a bank, with lower risk.

I agree. The money in the drawers just wouldn't be worth the risk and taking the vault is a whole other level.
Then they are going to see the car you leave in so you would have to dump it and burn it and then have another car waiting. All this with cameras everywhere in this day and age.
Risk is way greater than reward.
Now the electric department would have some major cash at the first of the month when everyone is making their payment, little to no security, if you could get in and out that might be worth the risk.

Use one of the crew as a hostage. He goes in before the bank is robbed so he looks like a regular joe and or shoot him with a non lethal round, hitting him in the chest full of fake blood. It will get their attention that you mean business. Once the bank is robbed he gets up off the floor. The cameras would have to be painted before hand so he isnt busted.
Getting into the vault is the part that takes longest but most banks I have been in , the vault is usually opened except for the barred door.
The easiest way to get away with this is having someone on the inside.
