This. I actually don't think there is anything wrong with doing it for Kindergarten. Get them to class, take the pictures and leave. No problem. Taking a day off of work, professional photo shoots? It's not THAT big of a deal.
These parents do this stuff for every 1st day though... not just kindergarten. Oh yeah, it's the first day of 7th grade, let's throw a parade.
This did not happen in the past.

If you think professional photo shoots are a problem, just wait til your kid can special order Chick-Fil-A and Subway 3 days out of the week.
