Louisiana Tech scored a big-time commitment late Saturday night when four-star Livonia senior defensive end Will Baker pledged to the Bulldogs.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Baker chose Louisiana Tech over offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Tulane among others.

However what it boiled down to was Baker simply didn't want to leave Louisiana.

"That mean a lot to me, staying inside Louisiana," Baker said. "I like rural areas. It was kind of perfrect where Louisiana Tech is act. I feel like their program is on the come up. I feel they can make something happen.

Baker: "so, what is there to do in Ruston?"

Coach: "ummm...not shite"

Baker: "where do I sign?"

Good luck to him, but is he serious about playing in the NFL? I can't believe he turned down Michigan to go to La Tech.

I suspect some big ten coaches will still try to flip him.

Ruston has plenty to do for students

It's not a great town for post grad but the town is centered around the university and students.

This is great news. I hope he keeps his commitment to us. I will be much more excited once he signs on the dotted line on signing day. We will see what happens.

I'm gonna be honest and admit I thought this was some tiny, obscure country in Europe for a moment.

Well it didn't help. Additionally the girls at Arizona State are out of this world. I would also say Minnesota has better girls than La Tech given the Swedish and Norwegian genetics. But let alone what he gave up football wise. Well I wish the guy luck, but I wonder if he realized what he turned down.

Louisiana Tech students go to Grambling for the parties to have fun. 10 minute drive. Nothing like a party at a HBCU.

Kid turns down a Michigan, Minnesota or Tulane education for LA Tech? Unless this kid is majoring in Engineering I don't see the wisdom in this decision.

Great decision & a great school. Their stadium is coming together pretty well. Grambling 4 miles down the road. He will have a good time there also.

LMAO! They now have passed West Monroe High School for the best football facilities north of Lafayette. It is still nothing more than a pumped up 1-AA stadium.
