Yeah but if you need them and have to burn their redshirt they have most likely missed out on game experience and won't be as ready to come in and help. Red shirting players these days is pointless unless they are projects.

This is why Fournette won't end up in the Heisman discussion. With 4 very talented backs and a coach that loves to split the carries among those several backs, LF just won't post insane numbers despite him being very good.

I wonder if they end up considering redshirting Ducre if Brossette doesn't. We have a solid, if unproven depth at FB already, and Williams can also slide over and get reps there, as well.
