So you're only driving one Trip in your life? That's it? You get in a car one time in your life and then you're done? The savings from speeding should be viewed on a cumulative scale over a long period of time.
Let's look at Trip C in the chart you provided.. which is the smallest amount of time saved out of any of the trips. That's 2.51 minutes. Not much for just one trip.
But if that is the trip to take to and from work 5 days a week, that is about 22 hours of time saved in a year. Almost an entire day of time saved just by driving a mere 10 mph above the posted speed. Not to mention that roads are DESIGNED for higher speeds than the posted speed. Safety is not an issue when driving 10 mph over the posted speed.
