There are all kinds of fans out there at varying levels of interest. I don't fault someone for being less interested than me in a given subject. It's easier to talk about it though if someone has a similar interest level though.
Then there are idiots who claim to know more than they really do. Just nod your head and try not to be confrontational. Correct gently when possible.
