I am ashamed to have not mentioned Neko Case. I've seen her like three times in concert, and another time with the New Pornos.

As much as I love her for Letters To An Occupant, I've not liked her solo stuff all that much. I think her voice is better used in the NPs.

Just starting to get into her now, she's very good.
Emmylou Harris has to be my pick. Love her voice but it goes beyond that. Just a high quality person which is kinda rare in the music business, and her history and the people she has performed with is pretty incredible.
