Sparty gon roll?
My system has Western Michigan covering 82.5% of the time. I don't trust my system that much this early in the season, but I think Michigan State is the squarest play on the board this week and I don't think people are giving Western Michigan enough respect

Here is my take on the Michigan State/WMU matchup.
Michigan State returns 7 on offense and 7 on defense.
Western Michigan returns 9 on offense and 7 on defense.
Both return their QB: Connor Cook and Zach Terrell.
WMU returns a great RB in Franklin, but Michigan State's run defense allowed 78 ypg vs non-conference foes at 2.5 ypc. 173 of those yards was against Oregon. The other 3 non-conference games ran for 140 combined; a 1.97 ypc clip. I expect a simar run-stopping MSU defense this year.
They did give up 210 ypg passing to non-conference foes last season, and one of those was 318 vs Oregon. The other 3 only averaged 175 passing.
I don't expect WMU to eclipse 325 total yards on offense, but I do expect MSU to score in the 40s here.
WMU will not score enough to keep it close. I expect something like 45-17.
The only common opponent from last year was Purdue, who beat WMU 23-14 to open the season. Michigan St defeated Purdue 45-31 mid-season.
