Ya, its just crazy to me to think of those homes being effectively "abandoned." Some of those are HUGE. Picturing the next tenants paying change to live there after that all happened is just an interesting visual.

Exactly. I'm still amazed that any development is happening on Oretha Castle Hailey, Tulane Avenue and even Freret Street. I grew up like 5 blocks from Freret and to see it now is truly stunning. Pre-Katrina, Valence just lakeside of Freret was the easiest crack score in the city. Now, every other house is being renovated.
