Pretty much. You can still have a strong schedule with one or two of these teams sprinkled in.
If the B1G wants to do that to bolster their overall schedule because they've dealt with weaker teams in their conference pulling down their SoS then so be it. But anyone not looking at the wear and tear of the overall strength of schedule (this just looking at OOC is silly) is being a bit naive.

Until teams are not punished for playing a good team and losing, the OOC games will continue as is, and understandably.
Was Mississippi State, TCU, or Baylor really punished by playing a collective shitty non conference schedule? Not really.
Imagine if any of those 3 had played, and lost to a Michigan State like team? None of them would have been considered to be in the playoffs.
The cure for a quality OOC schedule across the country would be to guarantee conference champions (of the power 5) to be included in a 8 team playoff.
That way, teams may play a quality OOC, get experience, and still could afford to make the playoffs.

Well maybe the fbs schools should just pay the NCAA a flat amount, say 800k to supplement the FCS and not schedule them. Fans get better games, FCS survive and everybody wins
