Exactly this. Louisiana was one of the characters of season 1. Without that special setting and very good actors, season 2 is just a confused storyline with overwrought dialogue. It makes no sense to film a season in LA.

I was hoping L.A. and the whole noir thing would be there but it just hasn't. The direction has felt disjointed and hasnt had that vision that first season had
I think Louisiana was just closer to home so he knew how to handle it better.
