Typically I see cops have their guns secured in their holster with a buttoned down strap. It is amazing to me that in two seconds fear of he was going to be killed popped into his head, he reaches for his weapon, removes it from the holster and aims it at the guys head and then pulls the trigger. That is an incredible amount of things to happen in TWO mississippis!

With training, that's pretty easily done.

I'm sure he was in Condition One or Zero, only difference being safety on or off. Plus, it was a close shot so target acquisition would be instantaneous.

In training, I've been timed at taking 1.3 seconds to draw and fire 2 rounds on target. Not hard.
