Would you deny a prior service member, that has a tattoo, a job?

I have a black and gray tattoo that is navy specific, nothing inappropriate like slang or nudity, that extends from my shoulder to elbow. Would you deny me a job based off that?

Depends on what job you are applying for? You meeting with clients or meeting future business targets I may not hire you or if I do I will ask you to cover up the tats. If you got a decent size brain and know how to use it I may overlook everything I just stated earlier though.

I only bring up the prior service because of the following story. I visited Athens with friends for the LSU-Georgia game in 2013 and my friend was denied service because he had a tattoo that showed. I thought it was outrageous and asked for the manager. I explained that we are active duty military and when I said that he allowed us to enter no problem. I have also experienced civilians saying that wish they had more prior military apply for jobs.

Your friend was denied service? What kind of place was this?

It was called bourbon street pub. A very famous bar in Athens. Never heard of this before.

Nope. As prior service Army and a Bama fan, I'd deny you service because of your screen name.

And they wouldn't serve him because he had a tattoo? That doesn't make sense

I thought the same. I realize some bars deny service because of saggy pants and hats turned backwards. But I feel like tattoos on the forearm are much more prevelant.

I would probably frick up my interview if I found that out anyways

They told him he couldn't get in the place because he had a tattoo? Those were the words they used?

Yes sir. I'm not lying about this and thought it was outrageous. I had to ask for the manager to get him in the bar. He had a typical sailor jerry tattoo on his forearm.

Would you be unable to wear a long sleeve shirt to an interview?
Posted on 7/29/15 at 4:45 am to geauxnavybeatbama
I sat in an interview with a guy last week that had both arms sleeved to his wrists. As soon as I saw him, I could not take the interview serious and he did not make it for the second interview.

I would absolutely wear a long sleeve shirt to the interview, but would my job ever allow me to wear a short sleeved shirt.

Depends on the job
