He definitely wasn't dragged first. He was definitely dragged, and would have been dragged regardless of whether he shot.
He was dragged a shorter distance because he shot, as far as we can tell from this one video. The rest of the footage from body and dash cams will be really interesting.

I didn't even realize about the number of arrests until I read it here, so I just checked. Confirmed by CNN, over 60 arrests. A model fkin citizen...
No bearing on the cops actions. Zero. Especially since the cop did not even know.

For once I'm in total agreement with Tangerine
DK what the cop was thinking. 2nd degree murder from what i see. Not that good of video though

interesting that if ferguson or baltimore never happen, this incident is not such a big deal.
now, considering the recent history of the situation, this cop is likely toast.

Do a lot of cops just not think about society, culture, and news before they react? This stupid motherfricking campus cop is going to spend 25 years in prison just for stupid judgement. Dubose might be an idiot, but what the hell did he do to warrant losing his life?
Cops...
Cops...

It's worth nothing in this situation. Nonviolent arrests. And cop had no idea.
But others keep commenting about the number of kids at 13. I wish they would let us now what the magic number is to get shot. I just want to be sure I don't have too many.
Posted on 7/29/15 at 6:50 pm to LSUTANGERINE
They guy could have 75 more. It was clear that he was a burden to society, but that still doesn't justify being shot like this.
No, it blows my mind...truly does. How can any WHITE cop not think 10 steps ahead when pulling over a BLACK individual in 2015? I am not at all saying black people should get passes -- no indeed and I am sick of all the race baiting. The media is too powerful, though, for all of this to be just another "mishandled traffic stop". It's assholes like this who are going to get the rest of us killed when hoodrats decide to come into my neighborhood and 'protest'.
Cincinnati is not THAT far behind Baltimore with criminals so the aftermath of this should be interesting.

The media is not turning this into another mishandled traffic stop. Shoot, 75% of those in the thread think it's more than a mishandled stop based on the video alone. the video is news.

It's a bad time to be a white cop accused of killing a black citizen.

Haven't read the entire thread but I'm guessing that those who would defend this cop fall into 1 of 2 categories. Either they or their family members/friends are cops or they're a racist.
This cop was a douche from the outset and this guy knew where this was heading. I don't give a shite who he was or what his past was. Completely irrelevant. The only thing that surprised me is that the cop didn't shoot him when he reached to his glove compartment.
I have told my kids if they get pulled over, hand the cop your drivers license, insurance and registration and tell him that the address is current and tell the cop that their attorney has instructed them to have no further conversations with him and then just sit quietly even if he's asking them questions. Why anyone would talk to a cop at all is beyond me. It's not like he's looking to do you any favors even if he's a good cop.

Ive spoken before on how we are becoming a police state but if you people don't understand that acting sneaky, refusing to cooperate and flight from an officer is not a stupid game with stupid prizes then you all need to go reexamine your intellect.
Im sorry black people but you lose again. Try obeying the laws first then talk about injustice.
Peace I'm out.

Can't say I mourn either of them. The suspect had been arrested 60 times and had 13 kids he couldn't support, and this guy is a trigger happy scumbag bully and likely a racist. This guy is going to get murder charges almost for sure since there was no reason to shoot him in the face just for resisting arrest. He's fricked, especially since prisoners love trigger happy idiot cops so much.

Ok, one of these statements you can prove. The other you can put back in your arse.

I also thought the cop was dragged by the vehicle, and the reports made the guy out to be drunk at the time. After seeing the video, it doesn't look good for the cop and his defense. The bottle of Gin actually looked unopened to me.
Yeah, from the initial report, I imagined this going down much differently.

Your little pictograph is a special little bit of retard, same goes for the person who spent undoubtedly hours crafting it- the guy was dead before acceleration even occurs. the cop could have let go at any point and not let his dumb arse be dragged ~20 yards.

Based on? You some sort of mind reader? It's amazing how some people can just grasp a theory out of thin air with no factual basis and convince themselves that they've got it all figured out.
Similar to how everyone thinks they have a good sense of humor and have above average intelligence, but the truth is very different.
Pat yourself on the back buddy, you just nailed the profile of everyone that disagrees with you on this. Moron.

so did I. Not a non-story, but from reading it and being here, it was a "well the guy was drunk and shouldn't of almost run over him" type of thing.
Then actually having a business right there on campus I got so worried. But seeing the video I really think it's so bad that no matter if I understand the "intent" of the cop he will be screwed for sure for the greater good of the area.
