My son will be 2 in November. Right now, he can't get enough of books. He has literally spent entire Saturdays in the library. It's to the point where he's "reading" (from memory) some of his favorites to us. We bring books with us when we're out to eat.

For now, he only sees our iphones as a phone. He'll take them and scream "hello" for a few minutes then hand it back. We usually just let him "talk" to his grandparents and great grandparents.

I don't want this stage to end, but I also don't want him to be behind. Eventually, we'll start to allow him to use one of our ipads for the educational aspect and to help with the dexterity required for touch screens. But in terms of length of use, just like everything else so far, we'll just wing it.
