if there's something you want to do/try, do it. don't wait until you're old and gray and tell yourself "I wish I tried that when I had the chance". going to college, making a career change, traveling the world, it could be anything. even if you fail, you'll never know what you are truly capable of unless you take risks.

break off ties with toxic people, regardless of how long you've known them. I've had to do that over the years, and it especially sucks when it's people I've known for several years and developed a close friendship with, but I'm better for it in the long run.

be the best at whatever it is you're doing. whether you're flipping burgers, mopping floors, whatever it is, be the master at your craft and take pride in your work.
