To Deuce and Peej point the State's OL and that game. I agree. LSU has 3 OL starters back none of which played the same position last year as projected this year, at least based on the spring. LSU guys just magically have chemistry and State's cannot. OK. Also I don't think the DL will be as good as 2011. LSU rotated 12, yes 12 DL that year.
Having said that, I think both might be underrating LSU. The last time Phil Steele had LSU underrated like this was in 2003, again coming off an 8-5 season. PS is not perfect but nobody predicts games at his clip or works harder for his info.
I also agree that 2016 looks to be the year, just like 2012 did going into 2011. I think the defense will be at least top 20 this year. On offense the OL will improve when the chemistry develops and will not be bad from the get go...everyone has been in the zone scheme for a year which will facilitate this. The RBs will be fine and I think outstanding. I also don't believe lack of quality RBs has been LSUs problems for many years and this group is better than most. The TEs and FBs will do well in their roles.
I think the end result will be determined by the development of the QBs and WRs. If they play well, getting off the line, running the correct routes and making clutch catches and going through at least two and perhaps three progressions before the panic sets in then look out for this team. I think the WRs will do this so it is up to Harris in my opinion.
