Sims says all this goes beyond the flag, all the way to his First Amendment right of free speech. “It’s a statement of our heritage and it’s just my right to have it and I don’t think that I should just give it up because somebody told me I had to,” says Sims.
The guy absolutely has the right to freedom of speech, but that does not mean there aren't repercussions.

What he does not understand is that by flying that flag on Turner's property, he is actually speaking for the company without their consent. He is on private property which does not belong to him.

If the company fired him for flying the flag at his home...that would be a different issue.

Turner is the name of the company.

But everything you've said is correct...other than that.

Turner Industries is the name of the company. Did you mean Philip Sims, the guy with the flag on his truck, when you said Turner?

Alabama is a right to work state. They can fire an employee for anything they want so long as it isn't based on race, creed, gender or sexuality.

Nice try comrade, but the first amendment says I can say whatever I want and nobody can do anything about it.

Just like the second amendment gives me the right to wave my AK at strangers on the street. And the third gives me the right to wake up soldiers and kick them out of bed whenever the frick I want.

fricking bill o' rights brah.
