This. Harry wasn't bad at potions. He was terrible at dealing with Snape and the Slytherins.

Harry is a good auror. All his skills are for beating the dark arts.
So does that make him a good wizard? Yes. Does that make him a well-rounded wizard? No.
He is proficient in a good number of skills, but, again, all for one purpose.
