What if Miles stays for another 5 years? The top coaching candidates today probably wont be the top coaching candidates then.

Speaking of coaching replacements, I heard a golden one today.

Hud (at ULL) is waiting for Mullen to be fired at MSU so that he can take that job, and when he does ULL is going to come after Coach O.

While that may not be that far fetched, MSU is coming off of their greatest season ever and in no way shape or form Mullen will be fired..So he would either have to leave for another job (not likely) or die.

hud is a fantastic coach. there's no denying that. ull fans get extremely excited to see mullen have success at msu. that's for sure. however, we are not naïve to think that hud will stay here forever. in fact, I would like to know what hud would tell his wife if he got to coach the tigers for one year. I bet it would be something like this, "holy shite, dear..........this is gonna be too easy with all of this talent".

What time period are we talking here? If Miles is fired this year then I would like us to go after a relatively young coach at a smaller P5 school, but if it is 5 years or so from now and we have been winning titles promote Coach O!

He has certainly done a great job at ULL.

I would get excited too if I were a ULL fan. However, I don't know that he is the #1 guy for the MSU job if Mullen would leave. Hud doesn't even have a Sunbelt Conference Title under his belt yet. That may change very soon, but I wouldn't think MSU would be banging on Hud's door the second Mullen would leave at this point.

On second thought, after typing this out...Hud seems to fit into exactly what MSU is. Win a few games every season and make a bowl game, but never win the conference. Hud may be their guy.

well......he has a tie in 13.

he's a great guy. he's a great motivator and we love him here. msu can sure go after some bigger names because they are in the sec. but, if they wanted one of their own back, he would be a perfect fit. i'd like to know how much hud makes under the table from the businesses down hwy 90 though. I bet it's a shite ton.

Hell no on Jimbo. He wouldn't leave the weak arse ACC anyways. I'm down with giving Frank a shot at it or maybe even Coach O.
